Renault Puts India In Focus, Plans 4 New Models By 2030; Unveils Bridger Concept ...
The Renault brand has outlined its growth strategy for the rest of the decade as part of Renault Group’s futuREady strategic plan. The roadmap focuses on three main priorities - strengthening its position in Europe, expanding electrification across its product range and increasing its presence in international markets.
Renault aims to sell more than two million vehicles globally by 2030. The company also wants half of these sales to come from markets outside Europe. Electrification will be central to the strategy, with Renault targeting 100 per cent electrified sales in Europe and 50 per cent electrified sales in international markets by the end of the decade.
India to Become a Key Production Hub
India will play an important role in Renault’s global strategy. The company has been present in the country for around 15 years and sees it as one of the fastest-growing automotive markets, particularly in the SUV and electrification segments.
Renault plans to develop and manufacture four new models in India by 2030. These will include both electric vehicles and full hybrid models. Vehicles produced in India will serve the domestic market as well as exports to other regions.

Bridger Concept Previews India-Built SUV
Renault also unveiled the Renault Bridger Concept, a sub-four-metre SUV concept that previews a future production model.
The vehicle has been designed as an urban SUV with off-road styling elements. It features 200 mm ground clearance, 18-inch wheels and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. The exterior design includes strong front-end lines, Renault lettering on the grille and a Beige Dune Satin body colour.

Rear passengers get 200 mm of knee room, which the company claims is among the highest in the segment. The boot capacity is rated at 400 litres.
The production version of the Bridger is expected to arrive before the end of 2027. It will be developed in India using the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP Small) and will be offered with petrol, hybrid or electric powertrains depending on the market. The model will be launched in India first before being introduced in other international markets.
Focus on Europe With 12 New Models
In Europe, Renault plans to launch 12 new models by 2030. The aim is to create a broader product range covering multiple segments while offering technologies suited to different markets and customers.
The company will continue focusing on the smaller A and B segments, where it has traditionally been strong. Recent models such as the Renault Clio, Renault 5 E‑Tech Electric and Renault 4 E‑Tech Electric form part of this strategy, while the upcoming Renault Twingo E‑Tech Electric will extend the brand’s presence in the A-segment electric car space.
Renault also plans to expand further into the larger C and D segments, which currently account for about 30 per cent of its sales. A new generation of electric and hybrid models is being developed for these segments with the aim of improving competitiveness and introducing new technologies.

Hybrid and Electric Powertrains to Expand
Hybrid technology will remain a key part of Renault’s European lineup. The company has confirmed that its E‑Tech Full Hybrid system will continue beyond 2030 in Europe as well as in other markets. Renault says the hybrid setup helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions while also acting as a transition step for customers moving toward fully electric vehicles.
Outside Europe, Renault plans to increase the availability of hybrid models as an alternative to diesel engines in several regions. Some models will be offered with multiple powertrain options including hybrid, petrol and electric.
Electric vehicles will also play a major role in Renault’s future lineup. The next generation of C and D segment electric vehicles will use the new RGEV Medium 2.0 platform. The architecture is designed to support longer driving ranges and faster charging with an 800-volt electrical system.

These include a fully electric version with up to 750 km WLTP range, a four-wheel-drive electric version with towing capacity of up to two tonnes, and an electric model with a range extender that could provide a total driving range of up to 1,400 km.
Electrification of Commercial Vehicles
Renault is also expanding electrification in its commercial vehicle lineup. The Renault Trafic E‑Tech Electric will become the brand’s first software-defined vehicle and will feature 800-volt charging technology. Renault says the van could deliver up to 450 km of driving range.
R-Space Lab Explores Future Cabin Concepts
As part of its future design exploration, Renault also presented the Renault R‑Space Lab, an experimental concept that studies how cabin design and technology could evolve.
Developed with input from Renault’s Futurama innovation lab, the concept focuses on creating a flexible interior space that can adapt to different uses. The 4.5-metre-long vehicle uses a one-box design with a modular interior layout and extensive glass surfaces to create a bright cabin environment.

The cockpit features a wide curved openR panorama display running across the dashboard that shows vehicle data, driver assistance information and multimedia content. The system is designed to operate in a similar way to a smartphone through a central touchscreen.
The concept also explores new safety and assistance technologies. These include an alcohol detection feature designed to help educate young drivers and an AI-based system that could provide driving advice or personalised recommendations through a digital safety coach.

Inside the cabin, the R-Space Lab focuses on flexibility. The passenger seat can slide backward to interact with rear passengers, while the three rear seats are identical in width and can fold or slide forward to increase luggage capacity. Renault says the interior layout can adapt to different uses, such as carrying larger items, bicycles or pets.
Expansion in International Markets
Renault is also preparing a stronger push outside Europe. In 2025, the brand sold around 620,000 vehicles in international markets, an increase of 11 per cent compared with the previous year.
The company currently operates five major international hubs in Morocco, Türkiye, Latin America, South Korea and India. These locations will play a central role in developing, producing and exporting vehicles tailored to different markets.

Renault plans to introduce 14 new models for international markets by 2030. Some of the vehicles already confirmed include the Renault Kardian, Renault Duster, Renault Grand Koleos, Renault Boreal and Renault Filante.
To support the expansion of low-emission vehicles globally, Renault will also use the Geely Electric Architecture multi-energy platform in collaboration with partners in markets such as Brazil and South Korea.
Renault’s 2030 Targets
Overall, Renault plans to introduce 26 new products over the next four years as part of its broader growth strategy.
By 2030, the company aims to sell more than two million vehicles globally. In Europe, Renault expects all its sales to be electrified, including hybrid and fully electric vehicles. Outside Europe, the brand wants electrified models to account for half of total sales.
With increased production in markets such as India and Latin America, Renault expects international markets to contribute about 50 per cent of its global sales by the end of the decade.
