PM Modi Says AI And Human Judgement Must Go Hand In Hand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the responsible and inclusive adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) will be crucial in helping India achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
In a message delivered at the AI Innovation Summit organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Modi said AI is transforming industries by improving productivity and driving innovation across sectors. He noted that the accounting and financial professions are also undergoing rapid changes as technology becomes more deeply integrated into their operations.
"AI-powered tools, when used responsibly and combined with human judgement, can improve efficiency, strengthen compliance, enable better decision-making and help professionals deliver greater value," Modi said.
He said India's development ambitions would require the responsible and inclusive deployment of AI. "As India advances towards becoming a developed nation, responsible and inclusive adoption of AI will play a vital role in accelerating the journey," he said.
Modi also lauded the contribution of the chartered accountants' community to the country's economic progress. "As India embraces the opportunities of the AI era, I am confident that the CA fraternity will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity, while leading innovation and excellence in the financial sector, contributing to the building of Viksit Bharat," he said.
The prime minister's message was read out during the inaugural session of the two-day AI Innovation Summit in New Delhi. ICAI, a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament, has a membership base of more than five lakh chartered accountants.
