HDFC Bank Expands AI Strategy With In-House GenAI Platform ‘Neev’

HDFC Bank has launched an in-house enterprise generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) platform, ‘Neev’, as the country's largest private-sector lender accelerates AI adoption across its businesses while embedding governance and regulatory oversight into its digital transformation strategy.
According to the bank's FY2025-26 annual report, the past year saw significant investments in GenAI alongside upgrades to its technology architecture, platforms and delivery model, positioning artificial intelligence as a key enabler of operational transformation.
In-House AI Platform
Neev is a full-stack enterprise GenAI platform developed by HDFC Bank to standardise AI development across the organisation. The platform enables business teams to build AI-driven solutions for operational challenges while maintaining enterprise-wide consistency, governance and controls.
The bank has also completed its net banking upgrade and rolled out an in-house engineered mobile banking platform with enhanced usability and security.
Across business segments, HDFC Bank continues to expand its digital ecosystem. SmartWealth is driving greater customer engagement in wealth management, while enhancements to CBX and TradeFlow are improving client experience and integrating banking services more closely into corporate workflows.
Governance-First AI Adoption
HDFC Bank said governance remains central to its AI strategy, with controls embedded into its platforms to ensure AI capabilities are auditable, continuously monitored and aligned with regulatory requirements.
The lender's latest AI initiatives reflect the broader push by banks to deploy generative AI for improving productivity, customer experience and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance, risk management and data security standards.
