Mayfair Spring Valley Resort in Guwahati hosted the two-day BRICS Heads of Anti-Drug Agencies Meeting, organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) under India's BRICS Presidency, on July 6 and 7, 2026.
The meeting brought together heads of anti-drug agencies and senior officials from all 11 BRICS member countries to discuss measures for strengthening international cooperation against drug trafficking and organised crime. Key agenda items included intelligence sharing, cross-border operational coordination, capacity building, tackling synthetic drugs and new psychoactive substances (NPS), preventing the misuse of precursor chemicals, addressing darknet-enabled drug trafficking, and the use of digital technologies in enforcement.
As the host property, Mayfair Spring Valley Resort provided accommodation and hospitality services for the international delegates while facilitating the official sessions. The resort utilised its event facilities, along with its 260 rooms, cottages and villas, to support the government engagement.
The event also highlighted Guwahati's growing role as a destination for international conferences and policy discussions, supported by hospitality infrastructure capable of hosting large-scale government and diplomatic events.
