Vedanta on Friday announced record production across its key businesses in the second quarter of FY26, highlighting its growing scale and operational efficiency.
The company reported its highest-ever quarterly and half-yearly alumina output at 653 kt, up 31 per cent year-on-year, driven by ramp-up and efficiency gains at its Lanjigarh refinery. Aluminium production also reached a record 617 kt, supported by strong operational performance.
Zinc India saw mined metal production hit an all-time high for the quarter at 258 kt, while Zinc International delivered 60 kt, representing a 38 per cent increase year-on-year, reflecting higher volumes and ore grades. Pig iron production rose to 238 kt, up 26 per cent from the previous year, aided by debottlenecking of blast furnace operations.
A major highlight for Vedanta in Q2FY26 was the commissioning of additional power generation capacity. The Meenakshi Phase-2 unit (700 MW) and Athena Unit-1 (600 MW) are now fully operational, strengthening the company’s energy portfolio and ensuring a reliable supply for its energy-intensive operations. |
