2015 was a remarkable year for Indian sports with several major international events hosted in the country and outstanding performances by Indian athletes across various disciplines.

The year began with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 where Team India reached the semi-finals, showcasing exceptional performances from players like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Though they didn\“t win the tournament, their journey to the semi-finals was celebrated nationwide.   

In hockey, India hosted the Hockey World League Final in Raipur, where the national team displayed significant improvement under new coaching leadership. The event featured top international teams and provided excellent preparation for upcoming Olympic qualifiers.

Badminton witnessed outstanding achievements with Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu continuing to excel in international tournaments. Saina Nehwal particularly made history by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the world number 1 ranking in badminton.

Other notable events included the Indian Super League football tournament, which gained massive popularity, and various tennis tournaments that featured both Indian and international players competing across the country.
