A social media account reportedly linked to jailed criminal Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has claimed responsibility for a shooting incident outside Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday.
“This was a trailer. If he still doesn’t understand our warnings, the gun will be fired not outside his house, but inside his bedroom on his chest,” the post read.
What happened?
In the early hours of Sunday, at least five rounds were fired at the first floor of the multi-storey building where Shetty lives, according to police reports. Although no injuries were reported, one bullet hit the glass panel of a gym within the premises. Law enforcement officials have launched a comprehensive probe into the incident.

A social media account named Shubham Lonkar Arzoo Bishnoi, which had a profile picture of Lawrence Bishnoi on Sunday issued a post on Instagram earlier today stating that individuals named Arzoo Bishnoi, Shubham Lonkar, Hari Boxer and Harman Shandu carried out the firings at Shetty’s residence after the film industry refused to pay heed to the gang’s warnings.
What else did the post say?
The post ominously described the incident as “just a trailer,” adding that future shots might be aimed at more personal targets if the warnings were ignored. Mumbai Police have heightened security around the area and formed multiple investigative teams to identify and apprehend those responsible.
The post also warned people in the Hindi film industry that they will face a fate worse than that of politician Baba Siddiqui, who was murdered on October 12, 2024, outside his son’s office in Bandra.

To those we have called—fall in line or you will run out of places to hide. To our enemies, beware, we will meet soon,” the post read as per reports from TOI.
The gang’s warning came hours after assailants fired at the first floor of the nine-storey building located in Mumbai’s Juhu area at around 12.45 am. At least five rounds were fired and one bullet struck the glass of a gym located in the building.
While Mumbai Police called the post a publicity stunt, the Pune Police detained four persons in connection. Heavy security has been deployed outside the director’s residence as probe into the firing continues. Twelve teams have been formed by the Crime Branch to find the accused. |
