Vaibhav Sooryavanshi unfazed after historic knock powers India A to tri-series glory
India’s teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his remarkable rise on Sunday, smashing the fastest half-century in List A cricket history by reaching the landmark in just 11 balls during the tri-series final in Dambulla.
The 15-year-old unleashed a breathtaking knock of 94 from only 29 deliveries against Sri Lanka A, hammering 10 fours and eight sixes. His explosive innings laid the foundation for India’s imposing total of 377/9 and helped secure a commanding 66-run victory in the title clash.
Despite another record-breaking performance in what has been a breakout season, Sooryavanshi remained composed and unfazed by the growing spotlight around him.
