Loya at Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, has introduced a limited-period monsoon cocktail selection inspired by the restaurant’s S.P.I.C.E philosophy. The seasonal menu has been designed around flavours associated with the rainy season, combining traditional Indian ingredients with contemporary mixology techniques.
The menu features two signature cocktails, Loya Cha and Whis-Gal. Loya Cha draws inspiration from India’s tea-drinking culture and is prepared with mezcal, Loya masala wine, amaro, honey and masala chai foam. According to the restaurant, the cocktail aims to reinterpret the experience of enjoying a cup of chai during the monsoon season. Whis-Gal combines cinnamon-infused bourbon, honey, lemon and gal-gal foam. The drink brings together warming spice notes and citrus flavours, offering a seasonal option for guests during the monsoon months.
The launch forms part of Loya’s ongoing focus on showcasing regional flavours and ingredients through its food and beverage offerings. The restaurant stated that the monsoon cocktail selection has been curated to reflect the comfort and nostalgia often associated with the season while presenting these flavours in a contemporary format.
