Veteran event professional Sanjeev Kapoor, Director of Scorpio Events Management Pvt. With over 34 years of experience in the events and experiential marketing industry, Kapoor is among the seasoned professionals contesting the elections, bringing a background that spans corporate events, government projects, association leadership and large-scale event operations.
Kapoor has been associated with Scorpio Events Management Pvt. Ltd. since 2005, where he has overseen the planning and execution of a wide range of events, including conferences, technology shows, trade fairs, seminars, award ceremonies, product launches, weddings and fashion shows. His responsibilities have covered budgeting, planning, execution and post-event analysis.
He has delivered event solutions for more than 100 corporate and multinational companies, over 20 government departments and 15 industry associations. Before moving into the events business, Kapoor worked with DCM India Ltd., where he gained experience in finance and budgeting, expertise that has continued to shape his approach to project management and profitability.
Beyond his corporate career, Kapoor has played an active role in industry bodies. As Founder President of KEMA, he has worked with a network of 181 member event companies while building relationships with more than 16 event associations across India. He has also served as South Head – Karnataka for EEMA, where he led membership initiatives and regional engagement programmes.
Over the course of his career, Kapoor has worked with organisations including Intel, Hewlett Packard, NASSCOM, OPPO and Infosys, besides executing projects for government organisations such as the Silk Board Karnataka and the Government of Maharashtra.
Earlier, as Country Head at Cigma Events Pvt. Ltd., he was responsible for expanding the company's national footprint by opening seven branch offices and leading multidisciplinary teams across the country. His portfolio included celebrity-led events, concerts, fashion shows and live entertainment, in addition to corporate films, thematic audio-visual presentations and brand campaigns.
Kapoor's candidature comes as EEMA prepares for one of its most closely watched elections in recent years. The NEC elections will determine the association's leadership for the 2026–28 term across key national and regional positions, with campaigning expected to gather momentum in the coming weeks.
The elections are scheduled to culminate with voting on July 25, followed by the declaration of results on July 27.
