INOX India Limited (INOXCVA) has partnered with Sweden's Wayout International AB to manufacture decentralised drinking water microfactories in India. The companies said the systems will enable local production of drinking water through automated, decentralised units, reducing dependence on bottled water and conventional distribution networks while lowering transport requirements, plastic waste and environmental impact.

Deepak Acharya, Chief Executive Officer, INOX India Limited, said the partnership reflects global confidence in India's manufacturing capabilities. "We look forward to bringing those capabilities to the decentralised water infrastructure sector and supporting Wayout's growth ambitions in India and beyond," he said. Acharya added that INOXCVA plans to leverage its experience in manufacturing complex industrial equipment to support sustainable water infrastructure while addressing safe drinking water access and plastic waste reduction.

The partnership combines Wayout's water technology platform with INOXCVA's expertise in precision manufacturing, stainless-steel process systems, modular engineering and industrial infrastructure execution. Mr. Ulf Stenerhag, Chairman and CEO, Wayout International AB, said "Together, we aim to make sustainable drinking water solutions more accessible while contributing to reduced plastic consumption and a more resilient water future." He said the partnership will help expand Wayout's global footprint by combining Swedish water technology with INOXCVA's manufacturing infrastructure, engineering capabilities and execution expertise.
The companies said the collaboration will initially focus on sectors including hospitality, residential communities, industrial facilities, institutions, remote locations and infrastructure projects, while supporting the localisation of decentralised drinking water infrastructure in India. |
