The countdown for Bihar Election Results 2025 has begun. Now that the two phases of polling in the state is over, the Election Commission of India is set to announce the results on Friday. Bihar Assembly has 243 seats, which makes 122 the majority mark a party or an alliance needs to hit to form government.
This also means that the counting of votes may take time. But when exactly will ECI announce the Bihar election results? Let’s find out.
Bihar Election Results 2025 Date and TIme
The Election Commission of India (ECI) will begin counting of votes from 8 am Friday, November 14. The votes have to be counted for all 243 constituencies, so the results are expected to come out during the day. Some may be announced much later, towards the end of the day.
While election results are mostly clear on the counting day itself, on some occasions they are officially declared the next day after the ECI compiles all the data.
High stakes battle between NDA and Mahagathbandhan
A high-stakes battle is at play between current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as well as Congress-led INDIA bloc, better known as the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar.
Most exit polls have indicated a comfortable win for the NDA, projecting between 130-167 seats for them.
The Mahagathbandhan is projected to win anywhere between 73 and 102 seats, Mint reported, citing several exit polls.
Poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, however, is set for a disappointing debut, with at least exit polls giving it between 0-7 seats, according to NDTV. |
