Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Priyanka Chaturvedi has joined Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), part of O.P. Jindal Global University, as a Distinguished Professor of Practice.
In her new role, Chaturvedi will teach courses focused on public policy, governance, legislative processes and democratic institutions. The appointment aims to bring practical insights from policymaking and parliamentary experience into the classroom.
The university said her engagement with students will include lectures, classroom discussions and academic interactions centred on contemporary public policy and governance challenges. The initiative is intended to strengthen the connection between academic learning and real-world policymaking.
Chaturvedi has served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha and has been associated with parliamentary committees and public policy discussions. Her teaching is expected to draw on her experience in legislative affairs, governance and political communication.
Jindal Global Law School has increasingly brought practitioners from government, industry and the legal profession into its academic programmes through Professor of Practice appointments. The model seeks to complement classroom teaching with perspectives from professionals actively engaged in their respective fields.
The appointment comes as higher education institutions continue to expand experiential learning opportunities by involving policymakers, legal experts and industry leaders in teaching and curriculum delivery. |
