Indian Naval Ships Udaygiri, Shakti and Kavaratti have concluded a three-day port call at Singapore's Changi Naval Base, reinforcing the growing maritime partnership between India and Singapore.
The visit was undertaken as part of the Indian Navy's operational deployment in the region by the Eastern Fleet, led by Rear Admiral Alok Anand, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet.
Aligned with the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation and India's Act East Policy, the deployment featured a series of professional engagements aimed at strengthening interoperability and operational cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy.
The engagements included cross-deck visits, bilateral professional exchanges and interactions between personnel of the two navies. As part of the outreach programme, school students also visited INS Kavaratti, where they received first-hand exposure to naval operations, life onboard a warship and the maritime values upheld by the Indian Navy.
The Ministry of Defence said the successful completion of the port call marked another milestone in the expanding strategic and maritime partnership between India and Singapore.
According to the ministry, the visit enhanced professional understanding, strengthened operational cooperation and supported shared efforts to promote peace, stability and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region.
