US-based insurer Nationwide has inaugurated its Global Services Center in Hyderabad, marking the company's first international campus and a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The centre will support technology, engineering, digital and business operations while enhancing the insurer's ability to deliver services through a 24x7 global operating model.
The Hyderabad facility joins Nationwide's existing campuses in Columbus, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa and Scottsdale, Arizona. The company said the new centre will improve organisational agility, accelerate innovation and strengthen enterprise-wide capabilities by leveraging India's skilled talent pool.
Nationwide has appointed Vikas Jaswal as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Nationwide India, leading the Hyderabad operations. He will oversee talent acquisition, capability development and collaboration with the company's global leadership teams.
The company plans to recruit professionals across technology and business functions, although it has not disclosed investment details, employee headcount or hiring targets. Nationwide said the centre will provide career opportunities while promoting a people-first culture and flexible work environment.
The launch reinforces Hyderabad's growing position as a preferred destination for global capability centres (GCCs), particularly in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector. Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the city has emerged as a global innovation hub, with several leading financial institutions operating technology and engineering centres from Hyderabad.
Nationwide, one of the largest diversified insurance and financial services organisations in the United States, said the new centre reflects its long-term commitment to expanding global operations and driving digital transformation. The move also highlights the increasing role of India in supporting multinational companies through technology, innovation and business services, as global firms continue to establish strategic capability centres across the country |
