Kabaddi is indeed an international game that originated in ancient India. This traditional contact sport has gained global recognition and is now played competitively in many countries around the world.
The game involves two teams of seven players each, where one player from the attacking team （known as the raider） enters the opposing team\“s half to tag as many defenders as possible while chanting kabaddi repeatedly. The defenders must try to stop the raider from returning to their half.
Kabaddi has evolved from being just a local Indian sport to an internationally recognized game with major tournaments like the Kabaddi World Cup and the Pro Kabaddi League. Countries such as Iran, South Korea, Bangladesh, and Japan have developed strong kabaddi teams that compete at the highest level.
The International Kabaddi Federation （IKF） governs the sport globally and organizes international competitions. Kabaddi was included in the Asian Games in 1990 and has been a regular feature since then, further cementing its status as an international sport. |
