The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup was held in India from October 6 to October 28, marking the first time India hosted a FIFA tournament. The event took place across six cities: New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Kochi, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Margao. 
Another significant event was the 2017 Kabaddi World Cup held in Ahmedabad from October 7 to October 22. India emerged as champions in this popular traditional sport, defeating Pakistan in the final.
The 2017 Indian Premier League （IPL） cricket tournament ran from April 5 to May 21, featuring eight teams and attracting massive viewership across the country and internationally.
Other notable events included the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, the 2017 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Gold Coast, and various international badminton and tennis tournaments throughout the year. |
