Arunachal Pradesh local body polls 2025 result: The State Election Commission will declare the result for Arunachal Pradesh local body elections2025 today, December 20. However, repolling was conducted on Thursday, December 18, at a few polling stations following reports of disturbances. These included the Nongkhon gram panchayat area in Namsai district, Nisangjang/Besai gram panchayat in Bichom, several gram panchayat constituencies in Tirap district, and the Rotom polling station in Kamle.

Arunachal Pradeshcurrently has 27 zilla parishads with a total of 245 constituencies, along with 2,103 gram panchayats covering 8,181 constituencies. The Itanagar Municipal Corporation has 20 wards, while the Pasighat Municipal Council consists of eight wards.


Ahead of the counting, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has already secured 58 zilla parishad seats unopposed, while the National People’s Party (NPP) won one such seat. In the IMC, four BJP candidates were also elected unopposed.
In total, 440 candidates contested the 186 zilla parishad seats, while 39 candidates were in the race for the 16 IMC wards and 21 candidates for the eight PMC wards.

The East Siang district administration conducted a full-scale dry run earlier today to review final preparations for the smooth counting of votes in the upcoming Panchayati Raj and Pasighat Municipal Councillor elections.
During the exercise, officials were taken through key procedures, including opening ballot and EVM boxes, checking seals and carrying out the counting process, East Sentinel reported.
