What are these CAG reports?

Prepared by India’s top constitutional auditor, CAG reports examine how public money is spent on government schemes and projects and checks whether the allocated funds were utilised for their intended purpose.

In the earlier sessions, audit reports on transport, and the now-scrapped excise policy caused fierce and heated exchanges between the opposition AAP and the ruling BJP with both political outfits levelling multiple allegations against each other.

Pollution and other likely items on the agenda

The Winter Session is taking place amid rising public anger over Delhi’s deteriorating air quality. With the Air Quality Indexremaining in the “severe” category for extended periods this winter, opposition members are expected to question the government’s preparedness and long-term pollution control measures on the Assembly floor.
Issues such as alleged irregularities in the renovation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official bungalow are also likely to be raised during the debates. Other items to be debated include Mohalla Clinics, a flagship component of Delhi’s public healthcare model, and the Women and Child Development Department’s Laadli Scheme, which provides financial support to girl children.
