SRINAGAR: Facing a sharp decline in tourism after the Pahalgam terror attack, J&K CM Omar Abdullah Friday asked the travel and trade stakeholders of Maharashtra and Gujarat to partner with his govt in promoting the union territory as a safe, vibrant, year-round tourism destination.Omar was addressing travel agents, tour operators, and representatives of travel associations of the two states in Mumbai. He said there is a long-standing bond between J&K and the travel fraternity of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The solidarity and continued support extended by Maharashtra-based travel agencies in after the Pahalgam attack is exemplary, he said.The CM highlighted the variety of options available in J&K in leisure, adventure, pilgrimage and wellness tourism, and reiterated the govt’s commitment to ensuring safety, infrastructure development and a tourist-friendly environment.Omar also visited the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies and National Film Development Corporation campus in Mumbai where he said J&K has vast a potential as an emerging destination for film tourism and creative industries.
