Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised newly appointed BJP national president Nitin Nabin, remarking that the young leader would be his “boss” in matters related to the party.
The 45-year-old leader formally took charge as the BJP’s national president, marking a significant generational shift in the party as it prepares for key elections in the coming years.
“When it comes to party matters, Mananiya Nitin Nabin ji… I am a worker, and you are my boss,” Modi said while addressing a gathering at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.

The Prime Minister said that as party president, Nabin’s responsibility extends beyond managing the BJP to ensuring effective coordination among all National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners.
“Now, honourable Nitin Nabin ji is the president of all of us. His responsibility is not only to run the BJP but also to maintain coordination among all NDA allies,” Modi said.
Highlighting the significance of the coming decades, Modi expressed confidence in Nabin’s leadership during what he described as a crucial phase for the country.
“The next 25 years are very important. This is the period in which a developed India will be built, and it is destined to happen. At the beginning of this crucial phase, Nitin Nabin ji will carry forward the BJP’s legacy,” he said.
Modi also noted that Nabin, a four-time MLA from Bihar, belongs to a generation that has witnessed major economic, social, and technological transformations.
In his first address after assuming charge, Nabin pledged to uphold the BJP’s ideology and its nationalist movement. He expressed gratitude to senior party leaders and Prime Minister Modi, emphasising the collective effort of 140 crore Indians towards building a developed nation.
“Today is a moment of resolve for me. I am not just assuming a position; I am accepting the ideology, traditions, and responsibilities of this nationalist movement. On this occasion, I also pay my respects to all my senior colleagues,” Nabin said. |
