The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at seven locations across Odisha and Rajasthan in connection with digital arrest scam. Three accused have been arrested in the case.  
The instant case is being investigated by the CBI in pursuance of the orders of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. The CBI registered the case in March this year. The victim is a retired public servant who was coerced into transferring an amount of Rs. 2.07 crore under the threat of digital arrest.
The investigation revealed that the defrauded funds were routed into a bank account opened in the name of a trust. Two accused have been arrested from Balasore, Odisha, while the third accused was apprehended from Nagaur, Rajasthan. They were actively involved in layering and transferring of proceeds of crime from the victim through multiple accounts.

During the course of searches conducted at the premises of the accused, various incriminating documents and electronic devices have been seized.
