Hindustan Unilever's Alok Sinha Joins FedEx India as Managing Director – Legal
Alok Sinha has joined FedEx as Managing Director – Legal, India, taking charge of the company's India legal function from its Mumbai base.
Sinha's appointment brings to a close a nearly 13-year run at Hindustan Unilever, where he built his career across the company's legal function in western India. He joined HUL in 2013 and moved up through a series of roles of increasing responsibility, including Legal Manager, Regional Legal Manager – West India, and Senior Legal Counsel for Western India and the Centre of Excellence, before being named Regional Legal Head – West in October 2024, a position he held until his exit this June. In that capacity, Sinha headed the legal function for HUL's West India regional office and its modern trade businesses, an operation with an annual turnover exceeding INR 30,000 crore, while also leading the company's legal frameworks for technology and digital commerce.
His in-house career began earlier, at Jyothy Laboratories in Bangalore, where he joined as a Legal Trainee in 2011 and was promoted to Legal Executive the following year, handling litigation across courts and tribunals before moving to HUL.
Over the course of his career, Sinha has built experience across litigation management, regulatory and statutory compliance, data privacy, and mergers and acquisitions, along with negotiating complex commercial agreements and supporting business-critical projects.
Sinha holds a Bachelor of Laws from CMR Law School, Bangalore, and completed an Executive General Management Programme at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, in 2022. |
