LG Electronics has announced a major collaboration with multi-platinum artist and tech entrepreneur will.i.am, unveiling a new AI-powered XBOOM audio lineup in India. The collection, branded “xboom by will.i.am”, introduces two products, the xboom Bounce and xboom Grab, designed to merge premium acoustics with intelligent personalisation and bold design.
The partnership positions will.i.am as Experiential Architect, directly shaping the tuning, design and creative identity of the XBOOM range. LG emphasises that this integration is one of the most substantive artist-brand collaborations in consumer electronics. India has been chosen as a strategic launch market, reflecting the country’s growing demand for audio gear that doubles as a cultural statement.
Both Bounce and Grab are equipped with advanced AI features. AI Sound analyses tracks in real time, adjusting output depending on whether the music is melody-driven, rhythm-heavy or vocal-forward. AI Calibration automatically adapts sound to different environments, from compact flats to open rooftops, eliminating the need for manual equaliser adjustments. AI Lighting synchronises bar lights with music, creating immersive audio-visual experiences.
Connectivity And Audio Engineering
The speakers support LE Audio Auracast, enabling multiple XBOOM units to connect for synchronised playback. Even without Auracast-enabled smartphones, users can enjoy multi-unit audio with one speaker acting as the master. The sound profile is enhanced by tweeters and full-range units from Peerless, a Danish transducer manufacturer with nearly a century of expertise.

Young Hwan Jung, Director of Media Entertainment Solution Business at LG Electronics India, highlighted India’s role as one of LG’s most important global markets. He noted that Indian consumers are globally aware, culturally connected, and unwilling to compromise on sound quality or design. The XBOOM range is positioned to meet these expectations while marking the beginning of a long-term collaborative journey for LG.
The Bounce and Grab represent LG’s attempt to redefine portable audio by combining cultural relevance with technical innovation. With AI-driven sound personalisation, robust durability, and design shaped by will.i.am’s creative vision, LG aims to establish XBOOM as a globally recognised audio brand rooted in both performance and identity. |
