The kabaddi court is a rectangular playing field that measures 13 meters in length and 10 meters in width for men\“s competitions, while women\“s courts are slightly smaller at 12 meters by 8 meters. The court is divided into two halves by a center line, with each half belonging to one team.
Each half of the court contains specific markings including the baulk line located 3.75 meters from the center line, and the bonus line positioned 1 meter behind the baulk line. The end lines mark the boundaries of the court, and the lobby areas run along both sides of the main playing area.
The court surface is typically made of clay, mud, or synthetic material, providing good grip for players who compete barefoot. Proper court dimensions and markings are essential for this traditional Indian sport that requires raiders to cross into opponent territory while chanting “kabaddi“ and return to their own half without being tackled. |
