The inauguration of Cyber Awareness Month October 2025 was held at the Director General of Police office in Mumbai on October 3.
The event, attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, senior police officials and actor Akshay Kumar, highlighted the urgent dangers of cybercrime.
Akshay Kumar shared a shocking incident involving his 13 year old daughter, Nitara.
While playing an online video game, she received friendly messages from a stranger. Soon, the person’s tone changed, and he demanded nude photos from her.
Nitara immediately exited the game and told her mother, an action Kumar praised as the best response.
He stressed that such cases reveal how online predators manipulate minors by gaining trust before attempting exploitation, which can lead to blackmail or tragic outcomes.
The month long campaign will spread awareness about online safety, urging children, parents, and schools to stay alert. CM Fadnavis emphasized vigilance in today’s digital age. |
