The Greece Super League, officially known as the Super League Greece, is the top professional football division in the Greek football league system. It was founded in 2006, replacing the Alpha Ethniki as the highest level of Greek football.
The league consists of 14 teams that compete in a round-robin format, with each team playing every other team twice, once at home and once away. The season typically runs from August to May, with a winter break in January.
Some of the most successful clubs in the league\“s history include Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK Athens, and PAOK. Olympiacos has been particularly dominant, winning the majority of championships since the league\“s inception.
The top two teams in the Super League qualify for the UEFA Champions League, while the third and fourth-placed teams enter the UEFA Europa Conference League. The bottom three teams are relegated to the Super League 2.
